Combination of Diet and Exercise…

0611Being fit and fabulous is going to take some effort, and as much as we would all love to have a magic pill for weight loss… there is none. If all of the supplements and pills that claim to work really did, everyone would be thin. Successful weight loss still comes down to a simple formula… burn more calories than you take in.
Calories describe the amount of energy provided by the food you eat. So, the more calories you eat, the more energy you are giving your body. When you give your body more energy than it can use then it gets stored as fat. A pound of fat is equal to 3,500 calories, and if you want to lose one pound in a week, you have to create a calorie deficit of 3,500 calories a week (or 500 calories a day).
There are two ways of creating a calorie deficit… eating less and exercising more. A calorie deficit can be achieved either by calorie restriction alone, or by a combination of fewer calories going in (diet) and more calories going out (exercise). The combination of diet and exercise is best for lasting health and weight loss. For more motivation follow this link to our Jillian Michaels page.
